Homeschooling Provides A Better Education and Happier Kids

by Paul Phillips

In the last 10 years or so we've seen a steep increase in the number of families who are choosing the homeschooling model of education for their families. The last roughly ten years has seen an increase in violent crimes occur in schools in the US. This makes it quite understandable for parents to want to protect their children in any way possible. The desire to provide a higher quality of education to their children is an important factor for many parents. The fact is, the evidence proves that educational standards are not what they used to be in the US. One aspect that parents like is the wide range of options available for choosing text books. With homeschooling, there are many benefits that are available to children as well as parents even though, no solution is particularly perfect in every way.

Because of the popularity of homeschooling, an entire cottage industry has developed. Many families who can provide this alternative are choosing to follow this path. Organizations have been continuing to form so that they can provide additional resources to support parents and children. For instance, many classes are starting to form outside of the home that acts as a source of enrichment. Subjects are offered specifically for homeschool children. Other important offerings for these children are being seen, such as social and sports activities.

Character formation for example is one of the abstract lessons parents who educate their children can take more time on when teaching. Public and private schools, to a lesser extent, do not have much time or focus on this critical area. Parental involvement is lacking in public schools which of course, compounds the situation for students there. Very fast paces is how many of us would describe our current life situations. In addition to providing a sound education, homeschooling can address or resolve many of these issues as well as help build a child's own character.

A public schooled pupil who is asked a question during class is awful. A high amount of grownups remember not wanting to reply to interrogations. The principle motivation is pupils being scared of incorrect answers and the possible laughter that could ensue. That conduct would not be allowed by a mother or father which makes the household unusual. The natural result of that is children who are much more capable communicators. Students that learn at home are more likely to have confidence in their articulation.

It can be fun and exciting to explore and learn as parent and child in a homeschooling environment. The reason for this is there is more opportunity to put creativity into education. There is no scientific reason reasoning for teaching everything in a classroom. If you make learning fun, or new and exciting your child's young mind becomes stimulated. Getting your child's mind stimulated this way can lead to a much greater interest in education and learning.
